Creating a database
Create a MySQL/MariaDB database in Plesk for your website or application.
Creating a database
Go to Websites & Domains → Databases.
Click Add Database.
Give the database a name.
Select the database type (MySQL by default).
Check Create a database user, and enter a username and strong password.
Click OK.
A database must have at least one user account, otherwise the database can't be used. Always create a user while creating the database.
Managing your database via phpMyAdmin
To view your database, edit tables or run SQL queries:
Go to Websites & Domains → Databases.
Click phpMyAdmin next to your database.
Connection details for your application
When configuring your website (e.g. wp-config.php for WordPress), you'll need:
Database host: localhost (or click Connection Info for the exact address).
Database name: the name you chose.
Username: the database user.
Password: the database user's password.
Keep your database details safe. You can change the password later via Databases → click the username.
